Corbin Haber is using his education at WyoTech to fulfill his passion of fabrication. From Aledo, Texas, Corbin is was very involved in FFA during his high school years, and discovered his passion for the trades through Ag Mechanics. His teacher, knowing of Corbin’s dream of attending a trade school, asked him to stay after school one day to talk to a WyoTech representative. Two weeks later, Corbin had signed up for the Collision and Refinishing program, with specialties in Chassis Fabrication and Street Rod. Corbin talks about how he was able to work on something that was close to his dream project while he was in Chassis Fabrication- “When I was in Chassis Fab, one of my instructors wanted a race bug, so a buddy and I got to build an entire 6-point roll cage for it and that was pretty awesome.” He says that his dream project is a similar style bug… “Some of my buddies and I want to eventually do it and come back to the WyoTech car show in a couple of years. We want to put a 12-valve engine in it, making it mean and overall just awesome.”
Corbin says that the biggest challenge for him in coming to WyoTech was having to deal with 8 months of winter. While he’s been up here, however, he picked up snowboarding, and having something that he enjoys doing in the cold has helped him cope with that struggle. He offers a piece of advice to those looking into coming to WyoTech- “9 months isn’t that long and you can learn a lot. And, if you’re nervous about it, it probably means it’s a good thing for you.”
