WyoTech Success Story - Orlando Giannecchini - Diesel Mechanic
Here is some information about
Orlando Giannecchini - Diesel Mechanic
Graduated in 2004 in the Diesel Technology Core Program
The diesel engine is the world’s workhorse, and delivers heapin’ helpin’s of power, efficiency, and durability. But diesel is far more than the big rigs that thunder down the roads to and fro. Diesel is hard at work everywhere big power is needed, from cruise ships and offshore drilling platforms to power stations, farm equipment, railroads, and mining.
Orlando Giannecchini looks like he was made to handle diesel equipment. Orlando says, “Yeah, the reason I went into diesel is because it’s a big…you know with the EPA cracking down with on-road vehicles, well, automakers are starting to get more and more complicated. So, think about it, Diesel is all over the world.”
Orlando continues, “I could go to work on a Caterpillar tractor here, or I could go to work on one in Canada, Australia, Fiji Islands, you know, it’s in the Marine, diesel in Maine, it’s in agricultural and it’s in off-road construction, on-road construction, and over-the-road transport.”
The WyoTech Diesel Technology Program gives students solid hands-on experience with a notable variety of diesel engines and power systems. Our instructors are highly trained and experienced, and they make sure students are able to work with some of the top names in the diesel industry, such as: Cummins, Caterpillar, Detroit Diesel, John Deere, and more.
Orlando grew up around tractors, and developed a talent for building cars. It was at a certain point he decided to take his skills to a new level. This is when he called WyoTech! WyoTech gave him the hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical education needed to enhance what he already knew.
Orlando recalls, “Not a lot of mechanical engines out there now. Not a lot of mechanical injection. It’s all electronic injected. So, that’s what was important for me to learn, the electronics aspect of it, the computers, the wiring harness, troubleshooting and things like that.”
Orlando is another success story that identified and found his niche in life. Now, the rest of his life is an open road of adventure because of his training and the experience he’s gaining along the way.
