WyoTech graduate Liz Miles is featured in December’s Hot Rod Magazine.
Where will WyoTech graduates pop up next?
She’s been receiving a bunch of media attention lately for the work she’s done on her Camaro.
Liz graduated from WyoTech in 2004 with an Associate’s degree in Applied Service Management.
We had a chance to catch up with Liz to find out how she feels about her training at WyoTech.
So you’re featured in this month’s Hot Rod Magazine. How does it feel?
It’s really quite something to be at the grocery store and look over and see your car on the magazine rack. Getting this feature really changed things for me.
I got a lot of people interested in the Camaro and my other projects. I find myself getting into areas of the car world I hadn’t expected to be in a year ago. I am currently building up my Datsun 510 and thanks to some sponsors that I picked up at SEMA, the car is going to be really something else!
When you graduated from High School in 2003 with Academic Excellence, you had a lot of options. What attracted you to WyoTech?
I knew no college had programs that were going to get me where I wanted to be. I also knew wasting 4 years in school was too much time. I wanted to jump in and start working. WyoTech allowed me to do that.
What was your favorite class at WyoTech?
My favorite class was Chassis Fabrication and a close second would be Street Rod.
What did you like most in those classes?
I really liked learning how to weld in Chassis Fab and I got to do some real work on my car. I learned the most in Street Rod, I had no previous experience in body work or painting so this really gave me a good base of knowledge. At least now I know what I don’t know, which is very important.
Did you have a favorite instructor?
I really liked all of my instructors from Chassis Fab and Street Rod. They gave a lot of time and had a lot of skills they truly wanted to share with us all. It was obvious their hearts were in it.
Any other words for people interested in WyoTech?
If anyone wants to ask me a question about my experience at WyoTech, feel free to email me.
